Adobe Labs just released two new exciting beta program’s. The first is the ‘Adobe Media Player‘ which enables end users to enjoy shows whenever and wherever they want, while enabling new ways for content businesses to create, deliver, and monetize high-quality content and advertising through a customizable cross-platform player that supports both downloaded and streamed media. I must admit it looks promising, it is fast, simple and intuitive. Content is still lacking but this will soon be solved as more users start using the Media Player. So you finally bought a Mac but your budget - like for most of us - is now completely depleted. How to get started with nothing? Well, Simon Elliott took the time to find and write down a enormous list of free and open-source software for OS X. Believe me this list is massive and a lot of software I still use to day because there aren’t any good commercial alternatives. Check out Simon Elliott’s ‘The essential list - Software we couldn’t do without’.

Sinds Apple voor bijna al hun producten de ‘i‘ plakte is de i de meest coole letter in het alfabet geworden. De ‘i‘ is in ieder geval hot! Je hebt de iPod, iPhone, iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, iMac, iCal, iDVD, iSync enz. Veel software en hardware fabrikanten liften op het succes van de ‘i’ mee. iShowu, iTerm, iBackup, iClean en nog veel meer software proberen met behulp van de i de Apple gebruiker te overtuigen dat het een goed product is, dat het deel uit maakt van alle ander i producten. En het werkt.
