Free OS X Software

So you finally bought a Mac but your budget - like for most of us - is now completely depleted. How to get started with nothing? Well, Simon Elliott took the time to find and write down a enormous list of free and open-source software for OS X. Believe me this list is massive and a lot of software I still use to day because there aren’t any good commercial alternatives. Check out Simon Elliott’s ‘The essential list - Software we couldn’t do without’.

You may also had over to Freelanceswitch and check out Ivan Brezak Brkan’s list on 35 Absolutely Essential Mac Apps (not all software is free). Make sure you also check the comments on this post because some gems you didn’t know about might come up.

Both lists will get you jump started.
