De terugkeer van Altavista [nl]

Ik heb vandaag onderzoek gedaan naar de zoekresultaten van een aantal zoekmachines. Niet de zoekwoorden waren voor mij belangrijk, maar hoe diep is de site geïndexeerd door de zoekmachine. Ik stond voor een verrassing.

Altavista
Deze zoekmachine was het helemaal voordat Google ten tonele verscheen. Jaren plezier van gehad maar voorgoed links laten liggen toen Altavista besloot om tegen betaling een url te plaatsen. Even checken. Gezocht op ploink-brothers.com en gekeken hoe diep de website wordt geïndexeerd. Wow. Alle pagina’s, maar dan ook alle pagina’s zijn geïndexeerd. Dikke 10. Mmm. Ik zal Altavista weer eens wat vaker gebruiken en kijken of het mij opnieuw kan verrassen. Een url plaatsen tegen betaling is dus niet nodig. Betaling is waarschijnlijk voor een hoge ranking.
